The LGA Foundation 12 Days of Christmas Campaign: The Young Women’s Outreach Project

On the ninth day of Christmas my good friends brought to me…🎁

.

As part of The LGA Foundation’s 12 Days of Christmas Campaign 🎁  Young Women’s Outreach Project have used their festive funding to gift 120 cosy Christmas packs for all the young women that attend the project and a further 10 packs for the babies and toddlers that come with their Mothers. Each pack for the young women has a hot water bottle, some thermal Christmas socks, a wooden heart decoration, a hot chocolate cone, some chocolate coins, a bath bomb and a face or hair mask. The bags for the toddlers and babies has a Christmas book, some festive rubber ducks, a winter hat, some booties, a personalised decoration, a mini chocolate snowman, and a koala fleece blanket. The project has also been able to buy some extra gifts such as writing sets and craft packs for those that need it the most.

“We just wanted to say a huge thank you to the LGA Foundation for awarding the Young Women’s Outreach Project the 12 Days of Christmas Fund.”

The Young Women’s Outreach Fund supports young women through single or complex issues occurring in their lives. Most young women are referred to the project through schools, children and other young people, social services, midwives and family nurse partnership, although anyone can be referred to the project. The project provides practical and emotional support, leading to individual growth in self worth and confidence to make decisions and enables them to take responsibility for their own lives. The project is women led and designed based on the needs of young women and mothers who come to the project for support
