The LGA Foundation 12 Days of Christmas Campaign: CREST

On the twelfth day of Christmas my good friends brought to me…🎁

.

As part of The LGA Foundation’s 12 Days of Christmas Campaign 🎁 CREST have provided over 100 winter parcels for the local community. The winter parcels are filled with much needed essential items such as hats, gloves, sanitary items, toiletries, and treats. As well as set up a drop in food bank providing pasta, sauces, bread, fruit and much more to ensure that everyone has lovely food to enjoy over the festive period.

Crest, which stands for ‘Compact for Race Equality in South Tyneside’ aims to promote racial equlity and to assist people from the communities in South Tyneside (and further afield) to enjoy a better quality of life. By supporting those in need to gain access to educaction, training and employment, to raise aspirations and ensure their voice is heard. CREST helps Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic groups in the South Tynesided area who are in need for support to integrate into wider society, through a series of projects based around identity, employability an equality. CREST helps people of all ages and gender to become better informed to enable them to make informed decisions that affect their lives. This is achieved through themed community events, community consultations, training programmes, one-to-one and job search support.
