On the third day of Christmas my good friends brought to me…🎁
As part of The LGA Foundation’s 12 Days of Christmas Campaign 🎁 The young people at The Bostey recognised the additional financial pressures many families face at this time of year and wanted to bring festive joy to their community. In response, they organised 12 different Christmas activities and events throughout December, creating free, fun, and meaningful opportunities for young people and families to come together.
The programme included Christmas craft sessions, where young people made homemade decorations, personalised gifts and even hot chocolate bombs to take home and to share with teachers or family members. Young people have also enjoyed trips out with friends, such as bowling and visiting the Fenwick’s window display, cosy nights in their pyjamas drinking hot chocolate and baking cookies as well as relaxing together and enjoying each other’s company, Christmas dinner for a 100 young people and a Christmas carol service in The Bostey garden, complete with turkey sandwiches, hot chocolate, mince pies and the chance for the whole community to toast marshmallows by the fire.
These activities not only spread festive cheer, but also highlighted the creativity, kindness and strong community spirit of the young people involved.
