As part of The LGA Foundation’s 12 Days of Christmas Campaign 🎁 The young people of Chopwell Youth Club have decided to give back to the community this year by hosting a festive get-together in the form of a Christmas disco. As part of the LGA 12 Days of Christmas, we’ll be inviting the whole village to join us in celebrating the season — with special invites going to those who have supported us over the years.
There’ll be a DJ, Christmas games, decorations, a photo booth to capture memories, and selection boxes for all our young people. We’re also putting on a buffet for everyone to enjoy
This year has been tough for many, especially with the cost-of-living crisis. We’ve spent time learning about the Chopwell Lockout and reflecting on the miners who took part in the strikes 100 years ago — and how their Christmases might have been. Inspired by their resilience, we hope this event brings people together and reminds us all of the community spirit that makes Chopwell so special.
