On the eleventh day of Christmas my good friends brought to me…🎁
As part of The LGA Foundation’s 12 Days of Christmas Campaign 🎁 North Benwell Youth Project used their festive funding to take on three separate projects!
- Creating 50 Christmas Eve boxes for local children in need. These boxes included a mug, hot chocolate and cosy socks. These boxes have been beautifully wrapped by the children.
- Made 50 ‘winter warmer parks’ to ensure that children were warm when walking to and from school. These packs include hats, gloves and scarfs.
- Winter Soup gift bags! The team designed 40 canvas bags filled with ingredients to create a lovely warm winter soup. They ensured that the recipe cards were translated into different languages and these bags were given to families that are struggling financially.
North Benwell Youth Project have used their funding to help over 140 children and families and have thought practically to help as many people as possible. All the members of the project are committed to helping those who live in the neighbourhood, who all share in their struggles and are keen to be viewed as positive role models to other young people in the community.
North Benwell Youth Project helps young people up to the age of 25 living in North Benwell to develop their capabilities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society. This support is provided through engagement work, group work, one-on-one support, drop in sessions and holiday programmes.
