The LGA Foundation 12 Days of Christmas Campaign 2023: The Young Women’s Outreach Project

On the tenth day of Christmas my good friends brought to me…🎁

As part of The LGA Foundation’s 12 Days of Christmas Campaign 🎁  Young Women’s Outreach Project  have built on the success of their Cosy Christmas Project which they started last year with funding from the LGA Foundation. YWOP have been able to provide each young woman who attends the Young Women’s Outreach Project with a Christmas gift pack full of treats – it’s a hug in a bag. They have made 168 packs for young women, each has a festive mug, a hot chocolate cone, a biscuit, a Christmas decoration, some touch screen gloves, festive fluffy socks, a craft pack and some chocolate coins. YWOP have also been able to make 20 packs for the babies, each of which includes a fluffy blanket, 2 rubber ducks, and a book.

“We feel so lucky that we have the opportunity to put smiles on the faces of every young woman who attends YWOP, at a time that can be full of magic for some, and incredibly difficult for others. Thank you LGA Foundation for your invaluable support.”

The Young Women’s Outreach Fund supports young women through single or complex issues occurring in their lives. Most young women are referred to the project through schools, children and other young people, social services, midwives and family nurse partnership, although anyone can be referred to the project. The project provides practical and emotional support, leading to individual growth in self worth and confidence to make decisions and enables them to take responsibility for their own lives. The project is women led and designed based on the needs of young women and mothers who come to the project for support
