On the ninth day of Christmas my good friends brought to me…🎁
As part of The LGA Foundation’s 12 Days of Christmas Campaign 🎁 D2 Youth Zone hosted a Christmas Parade through the Newbiggin Hall Estate! The funding from LGA Foundation was used to purchase gifts and selection boxes to be distributed during the parade. Santa and his helpers made stops during the parade to give presents and sweet treats to all the children in Newbiggin Hall. The parade is a big end of year celebration for the estate and many of the young and old volunteers supported their community by dressing up in an array of costumes and handed out 100’s of gifts. Due to the cost of living crisis, many of the families D2 Youth Zone work with, struggle during the festive period. D2 was able to spread joy and a little magic to everyone on the estate.
D2 Youth Zone is a youth work project committed to creating opportunities to empower young people to reach their full potential in a caring and supportive environment. D2’s focus is to provide quality youth work with a special emphasis on working with the most vulnerable young people in the community. D2 uses positive activities and preventative help, as well as working with young people with neet (not in education, employment or training), on a one to one basis, many of whom have complex issues preventing them moving forward.
